Backcountry Hunting Logistics has limited hunter access areas for hunters that are looking to pay an access fee and hunt on their own. These hunts require the hunter to abide by all ranch rules within the area they are hunting. The number of hunters each year is commanded by set harvest quotas by BHL and the specific ranch to be hunted.
Fully outfitted hunts have priority over DIY access hunts. Available DIY access hunts will be determined after the draws and BHL clients have been booked. These hunts are awarded on a first come first serve basis. If interest exceeds the number of available spots, a random lottery will be performed and hunters will be drawn. Hunt dates will be specific dates to limit the number of hunters per area at a time.
Specifics on buck/doe, bull/cow, trophy/management, etc. will be specific in the applications. If interested in paying for access to hunt, select from the species and then fill out the application for on the species page. Applications and quotas for our DIY hunts will generally open in July/August. IF YOU DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION, YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR A DIY HUNT. THESE APPLICATIONS ARE TIMESTAMPED AND RECORDED IN ORDER.
Currently we are offering limited access hunts for Elk, Deer, Antelope, and Coyotes in the following Hunt Areas:
Elk: 16, 22, 23, 24, 111, 118 – COW ELK ONLY
Mule Deer: 70, 87, 88, 89, 96, 97, 98 – IF YOU ARE SELECTED FOR ONE OF THESE, IT WILL BE A MANAGEMENT BUCK THAT BHL HAS FOUND AND WILL DIRECT YOU TO – THERE IS NO FREE RANGE HUNTING FOR WHAT YOU CAN FIND
Antelope: 32, 47, 48, 61, 63, 68, 69 – TROPHY BUCKS AND DOE HUNTING
Coyotes: Deeded Land
